While there are plenty of guest friendly hotels in Silom there is only one lesbian friendly hotel in the area. That is Swiss Lodge. This doesn’t mean that other Silom hotels have an anti gay and lesbian policy, it just means that few hotels in Bangkok put out statements about being gay and lesbian friendly.
As a single gay woman or as a lesbian couple you are unlikely to attract much attention in Silom, especially if you don’t fit into the butch-femme dynamic favoured by many Thai lesbians. The vast majority of hotels in Silom offer great customer service and meet their customer needs without touching on the sexual orientation of their guests.
The only time sex becomes an issue in a hotel context is when a hotel charges a supplement to guests who bring back sexual partners for the night. There is no moral dimension to this, only that many hotels see this behaviour as an excuse to make a couple of extra bucks out of tourists.
Le Siam Hotel (formerly Swiss Lodge)
Le Siam Hotel is descended from the first guesthouse in Bangkok – Swiss Guest House in 1953. Since then the hotel has gone through various transformations and a name change. Now it is a lesbian friendly 4 star hotel that features a pool terrace, a restaurant, a library and a business centre. The rooms have tasteful colour themes and enjoy air-con, hot water. The rooms contain cable TV, safe, mini bar and teak furniture. The more expensive rooms also feature marbled bathroom (with bath), DVD player, dining area and Jacuzzi. Wifi is available but not free.
Le Siam Hotel is known as a guest friendly lodge. This means it doesn’t charge extra to customers who bring back someone to stay over-night. Le Siam Hotel is also known to be gay and lesbian friendly.
Room prices at Le Siam Hotel start at 2,100 Thai Baht a night.
